The staff of the month is Anyssa, Membership and Family Specialist, based at the Salinas Clubhouse. Anyssa has worked at the Club for a little over a year and manages the member registration and most family communications from the Clubhouse. Outside of the Club, Anyssa regularly attends school and community outreach events to share the Club’s resources with the community. Anyssa’s favorite part about her role is making connections and partnerships with families and finds providing information for resources rewarding. Anyssa’s favorite times of the year are when members are gearing up to start a new school year and the holiday season. For Anyssa, the new school year introduces her to new eager faces ready to learn, while the holiday season in November and December creates a season of giving, especially through the Adopt-A-Family campaign. Anyssa credits the campaign as the most memorable because the Club provides gift cards to select families during the holidays to help with groceries for holiday meals. Multiple families expressed their gratitude for the unexpected help as they were going through a hardship. Anyssa states “It is moments such as these that make me beyond proud for the work that we do here at BGCMC, it’s an emotion no one could have prepared me for.”
