Karime Romero-Espinoza, an 18-year-old senior at El Puente High School, has been a dedicated BGCMC club member for eight years. Karime has been a part of our summer internship program where she oversaw 3rd graders and excelled in running mindfulness activities. Aside from attending BGCMC, Karime works part time in a retail store where she is gaining the experience as she pursues her dreams of opening her own bouquet business. With the support of BGCMC, she honed her professional skills through mock interviews and resume building workshops which helped her secure her current job. Karime’s dedication to her education is equally inspiring as she is on track to graduate high school early, completing her degree in February. To accelerate her lessons, Karime has been taking evening classes and attends homework assistance workshops at BGCMC. As a participant in the Youth of the Year program, Karime was awarded $1,500, a testament to her hard work and commitment. Looking ahead, she aspires to attend California State University of Northridge to pursue a degree in nursing, where her passion for helping others will continue to shine.

“ I appreciate the club for giving me so many opportunities, I am thankful for all the staff who have helped me in any way possible.”- Karime
