BGCMC just launched the Future Ready program aiming to provide participants with the skills, experience, and support necessary for successful career placement, educational attainment, and advancement to livable wages. Central to this effort, participants will gain work experience in their chosen industries, building hands-on skills while establishing valuable industry connections. Through partnerships with local employers and targeted career pathways, participants will have opportunities to immerse themselves in real-world work environments.
The idea of the Future Ready program came about with the organization’s desire to support our members through early adulthood. When members reach those pivotal years, the Clubs means to support them become limited. The program is designed to provide not only guidance on their college or career pathway, but social and emotional support as well.
Rosalia is a shining example of the kind of driven and community-oriented young adult the Future Ready program seeks to uplift. She was the 2023 Youth of the Year for the Boys & Girls Club of Monterey County and served as Keystone President from 2019-2022. She graduated high school with a 4.10 GPA, was an assistant coach for her high school swim team, and is an avid volunteer in her community. She has been awarded $44,000 in scholarships and also loves to cook! Rosalia is attending Monterey Peninsula College, studying nursing and plans to transfer to a 4 year University after she obtains her Associate’s Degree.
