We’re proud to shine a spotlight on Jenises, our dedicated College and Career Readiness Specialist, who joined the Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County in July of 2024. With four years of professional experience in youth development—specifically in college and career readiness—Jenises has brought a wealth of knowledge, passion, and heart to our team.
Although she’s not originally from the Monterey Peninsula, Jenises is a proud CSUMB graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Humanities and Communication. She has embraced our community as her own, working tirelessly to support and empower local teens.
Jenises’ warm and welcoming nature has quickly made her a trusted figure among our members and staff alike. Her ability to connect with young people and recognize their individual personalities allows her to support them holistically—whether in academics, athletics, or their social-emotional well-being.
Since joining BGCMC, Jenises has not only supported existing initiatives but has also helped us evolve, building new systems and programs to strengthen our mission. From hosting engaging workshops to bringing in inspiring guest speakers from a wide range of industries, she’s opened doors to countless possibilities for our teens. Her impact continues to grow, making her a vital part of our Club family and a true asset to our community.
“I love my job because I get to watch young people discover their potential, set goals, and realize they’re capable of achieving more than they ever imagined. Being a part of that journey is the most rewarding feeling.” — Jenises Gonzalez
