Ashanti Williams and 17 other Boys & Girls Club teens competed for the coveted title of being named the 2024 Youth of the Year at the Embassy Suites Hilton Monterey in Seaside. A panel of judges evaluated students on their essays, academic performance, community service projects, one-on-one interviews, and speeches. In total, 18 Youth of the Year participants received $42,000 in scholarship awards ranging from $10,000 to $1,500.

The D’Arrigo Family were presented with the Roosevelt Williams President’s Award for their outstanding philanthropy and long-term support of Boys & Girls Clubs.

A special thank you goes out to our Master of Ceremonies, Karina Rusk, our Club Alumni speaker, Bertrand Newson, and our 12 judges for taking part in this year’s Youth of the Year.

Thank you for helping make the 2024 Boys & Girls Clubs of Monterey County Youth of the Year a tremendous success with raising over $320,000 for the College & Career Readiness Program, which prepares teens for life after they graduate from high school.
